This collection incorporates themes of healing and growth. Its a personal story exploring trauma and the process of healing and becoming in touch with emotions. I used imagery of trees that historically have been used to symbolise growth, life, death and the fragility of man. The use of natural dyes was my way of bringing that fragility into the forefront, using dyes that are ephemeral but also explore healing through their kindness to nature and the sustainable action that is beginning to happen throughout the artist communities. I was inspired by the slow stitch movement to begin my growth outcome, using stitch as a mindful act to connect my body to the work that I created.
